DJ Stephan C

Stephan C (Audn), born in the USSR, spent his early childhood surrounded by the forbidden sounds of British rock'n'roll, eagerly devouring the dozens of records his father smuggled across the iron curtain. As a teenager in the newly independent Belarus, Stephan turned his attention to the Britpop, Madchester and shoegaze scenes a continent away, enamoured with the psychedelic melodies, dancey beats and space-age guitars of the early 90's UK.

However, when he left home in 2004, Stephan set sail not for London or Manchester, but for New York, where he quickly found himself at home among like-minded musicians. An accomplished guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and musical jack-of-all-trades, Stephan was a driving force in Brooklyn's Britpop quartet Lucid Spruce before turning his attention to the psychedelic shoegaze band Audn in 2007. In 2008, Stephan became a co-owner of new music and arts venue Vanishing Point, located in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

As a DJ, Stephan spins a dynamic mix of shoegaze, indie rock, electronica, new wave and Britpop.
